Sheridan Student Union, or SSU as it’s referred to on campus, serves over 20,000 students across three campuses in Ontario, Canada. The old brand was stale and cold and didn’t fit the needs of its diverse population.
Through research, surveys, meetings, and months of design—a fresh, bold, and modern look was created to better align with the students voices and opinions.
Skills used: Art direction, design, illustration, branding, print, web/UI design, copy writing
Primary, secondary, and logo variations based on usage needs.
SSU - The Living Brand. To allow the SSU to live and grow with its students, the middle 'S' in SSU representing the word 'Student', was opened up to allow the brand to reflect the world it lives in.
My vision was to capture all of the offerings the SSU provides its students in a unique and thought provoking way. 'Discover the Sheridan Life' was the slogan chosen and from there, hundreds of iterations of the 'S' were created to be thoughtfully used in print, web and video materials.
Example of the new stationary.
New way-finding signage was introduced to identify SSU locations on campus.
A variety of new staff and student apparel was introduced including tee shirts, hats, hoodies and sweat pants.
An entirely new website and online presence was launched to mark the official unveiling of the rebrand to Sheridan College students. More thoughtfully curated social media channels were introduced, as well as a new brand voice.
I left shortly after this project finished to start a new chapter in my career. I am extremely proud of this project and the team I led to create this vision.
